Infected Worldmind

Politics and Culture. A Tonic.

Who am I?

A happy father. A lucky husband. A lawyer and development professional.

I blog at Between the Stations and occasionally contribute to Funnybook Babylon. My ever-expanding bookshelf is here. I infrequently write about food and take pictures.

That's everything.

It’s Beyonce’s world. We’re just living in it.

Jay-Z and Beyonce, American pop culture royalty. I’m always impressed by how good the two are at crafting and managing their respective public images.

Picture of the Day: Barack Obama With Jay-Z and Beyoncé

I have all kinds of feelings about this photo. A weird mix of pride and frustration. There’s something amazing about seeing three confident people of color with so much power and influence, a feeling that’s slightly tempered by the fact that at least two out of the three people in this photo (hint: they’re the ones who don’t have awesome hair) should do better.

‘30 Rock’ moms Fey and Krakowski didn’t get the Beyonce treatment

“My celebrity treatment at Lenox Hill involved taking a group breastfeeding class in a closet,” Fey said. “It’s clearly supposed to be a storage closet with a bunch of other mothers, and a nurse grabs one of your breasts and another lady’s and is shoving them in a baby’s mouth.”

In case you’ve forgotten, Tina Fey and Jane Krakowski are awesome. For more on the Lenox Hill mess, check out the coverage in the NY Times and NY Daily News (here and here). It’s amusing that some people are surprised by the celebrity/class entitlement at play in this story. One other interesting thing about this story - the Times refused to post links to coverage from the Daily News or the Post even though they essentially broke the news.

I really should care about this, but Beyonce bores the hell out of me.

It Doesn’t Get Much Better Than This- A Truly Perfect Moment.

I believe that the lady has said all that needs to be said.
